Thank you thank you - Posted: 30 Sep, 2007
We just want to thank everyone that came out to our reception, we had such a blast! Even though it rained, we enjoyed the slip and slide and volley ball in the rain, it was pretty awesome and it looked like everyone had a great time. It was definitely unique and we hope everyone got their thank-you's!
The Reception, Important Info... - Posted: 21 Jul, 2007
Well the reception is coming up in two short weeks and I ran into a small problem. When I made the direction cards, I wasn't planning on having construction on the road I mapped out for you guys, SO, instead of taking S. Lewis Blvd. You would want to take S. Lakeport all the way down until you hit 220th St. and take a Left from there. Hope that helps!! Todd and I have almost everything lined up except the kegs. We have the cake taken care of and what food we're having, which everyone's asking, so I might as well tell: we're having fruit, potato salad, baked beans, buns, italian pasta salad, taverns, finger foods and best of all, we're roasting a hog, yeop that's right, 8 hours of roasting a hog comes out to be a succulant, satisfying meal in itself. Trust us, you definitely don't want to miss this, I hear it's the best hog roasting in town, seasoned to perfection with a tough skin and a meat that melts in your mouth...mmmmmm
We're baaaack! - Posted: 18 Jun, 2007
Wow, the wedding was absolutely phenominal if I may say so myself! The weather called for 60% chance of rain, but not one drop all day, it was clear and sunny and we were married on a gazebo with the gorgeous beach as our backdrop, I can't wait to show pictures, I'll post them as soon as I get a chance. The Bahamas was awesome, the locals were so friendly and we got top-notch quality service wherever we went. We went parasailing, snorkling, we went on a sub-bubble excursion and lots more. Then just Todd and I went to Orlando for our own getaway. Wow, Florida is amazing. The people there are not friendly at all, but we had a blast. We went to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Todd pussed out on a couple of rides, haha, but we got a ton of pictures. What an amazing wedding and honeymoon, we are very fortunate how everything worked out so perfectly. Can't wait to see everyone soon! And we just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who came: John and Alice, Josh, Zack, Alexis, Linda and Stuart, Troy and Danya, Nick and Claire, Grandma and Grandpa Williams, Rhonda and Mardel and last but not least, Alan and Elisha, we had so much fun with you guys and you made our wedding experience just that much better, thanks again everyone, we love you!

The Car Accident - Posted: 03 Jun, 2007
A lot of people saw the car accident that happened on Saturday, June 2nd, so I just want to let everyone know what happened. First of all, let me start by saying that I just KNEW something bad was going to happen! I was telling Todd just Friday that "wow, everything is finally falling into place, the wedding plans are finalized, I have everything I need, work's going really good, now watch, something bad is going to happen, I can feel it." And whaddya know, the very next day, as Linda (my future mother-in-law, and I were going to Jenny's (Todd's cousin)bridal shower, some kids ran a red light and we got into a terrible car accident. Linda hit her chest on the steering wheel and her neck is hurting a little bit and I hit my head pretty hard and my shoulder. Just got a few bumps and bruises out of it. Linda's car is completely totalled. I was just so happy and relieved that it wasn't worse! Can you imagine all the possibilities that could have happened? Wow...anyway, we had our angels watching over us that's for sure. If it were one second later, my door would have been smashed completely in and I would have been crushed inside the car. It was eleven days before the wedding! The kids in the other car are all okay and Linda and I are doing well, still a little shook up, but just very, very thankful no one was seriously hurt. Thank you for everyone's concern and phone calls...now hopefully, it's smooth sailing from here on out!
Invitations - Posted: 01 Jun, 2007
I just sent out the invitations this week and I've had a lot of comments on where I got the invitations. For the actual invitation itself and the direction card, I went through an exhaustive search to find unique invites that stood out. Invitations are extremely expensive!! So I came across this woman's advertisement through ebay. Her name is Charlotte and her company is Card Creations by Charlotte. She doesn't have her own website, but you can check out her samples on ebay with this website:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Wedding-Photo-Invitations-Announcements-Custom-Made_W0QQitemZ330127062102QQihZ014QQcategoryZ102470QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting
Anyway, she was so extremely helpful, had excellent communication and sent me several samples and proofs. I can't quote you what her other prices are but I believe my invites and direction card with the envelope and 100 thank you's was $.85 each. VERY reasonable considering that fancy invitations run anywhere from $1.99 on up just for the invitation itself! Then I got the Save-The-Date magnets at magnetstreet.com They have awesome stuff on that website, you can put your picture on the magnet if you want and they have a ton of designs to choose from. For the quantity of magnets I got, they were $.89each with the silver-lined envelopes. Just a helpful hint: I bought them separately, months apart, so it didn't seem so pricey. The invitations and photography are two things you don't want to skimp on because that's what people remember the most if you do them right!
3 weeks to go!! - Posted: 23 May, 2007
Wow, hard to believe three weeks to go. I have everything in order by now, well almost everything...I have my dress altered, flowers are here, jewelry, tiara, veil, shoes, garter, Todd's tux will be ready the Saturday before we leave, the whole bridal party has their outfits and flowers. So the only thing missing is something "borrowed." I am very old-fashioned, I have something old, something new, nothing borrowed, something blue. That is hard to incorporate into my bridal outfit. I will be sending out invitations to the reception shortly, we truely hope everyone comes, it'd be nice to see the whole family on each side. Now alls Todd and I have to do is worry about the reception...you guys are in for a real treat, the reception's gonna rock!!
Bridal Showers - Posted: 19 May, 2007
Well, I just had my bridal shower held my my future aunts-in law, Debbie and Dawn last Saturday the 12th of May, It was beautiful. They used the tropical theme which was cute and unique. They made me a towel cake with lei's on each tier and pinned flowers throughout the cake and even used my colors! They had champaigne and orange juice in plastic wine glasses with umbrellas and fruit stuck through them, so adorable! The food was immaculate! I loved the brunch food, and whoever made that southwest casserole, that seriously rocked :) I had a great time and got great gifts. I had my second bridal shower on May 19th held by my aunts Joan and Janet. That shower was a lot of fun, too! They had to make a wedding dress on me made out of toilet paper and it was quite comical. I got a lot of wonderful gifts from my family and friends as well. And the food at this shower was also delightful. They had my favorite: pickle wraps, so that's an A in my book right off the bat! So thank you to all who came and for all the gifts. I am very appreciative the mine and Todd's aunts for spending the time and money for my showers and a big thank you also to my aunts for making the trip up from Kansas City.
Wedding Dress - Posted: 18 Feb, 2007
I just received my wedding dress from Bridal Traditions and it is beautiful, I can't wait for Todd to see me in it. If you would like to see it, go to:
http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?keywordText=grace&keywordType=any&pageSize=8&page=2&style=J857
The picture doesn't do it justice, it is very beautiful! My dress is called "Grace" and is just that ;) They messed up on my veil order, wrong color so I will be receiving that shortly. The only thing I have left to buy at this point is my tiara and the invitations. Yay, the day is just around the corner it seems like!
Bridesmaid Dresses - Posted: 16 Jan, 2007
To view what I will be ordering in the very near future for Claire and Danya, go to
http://a6.dessy.com/index.cfm?go=dresses&style=A6277SOLID
and that is the dress they have both chosen. The color will be ambeauty which is the first color in the colors icon, it's a pinkish color. They are so cute!
Now, at first my sister wasn't going to go to the wedding but I ran into a little bit of a hassle with her dress because number one: After Six doesn't have junior bridesmaid dress sizes (She's 12 y/o)and two: no other company had the color ambeauty. So I went through a different company and got her a fuschia colored dress that matched as closely as possible, but she will kind of stand out though which was disappointing that they couldn't have all matched, but that's okay, she's my maid of honor so we'll make it work! They will all look stunning!
